Queering Radical Pedagogies Pratt ’18

April 4, 6 & 7 on Pratt Institute’s Brooklyn Campus

BLM@Pratt Teach-In presents an incredible Queering Radical Pedagogies conference, a three-day event with generative workshops, panel discussions, critical performances featuring students, community members, and faculty.

Black Lives Matter @ Pratt is a group of students, faculty, staff, and alumni working together to transform our campus culture, to address systemic racism, and creating dialogues around the racial inequality within our institution and fostering activism within our campus body. It means confronting anti-Blackness openly and honestly.

Queering Radical Pedagogies, exist as a think tank work-study, utilizing historical and cultural analysis focusing on sexuality, critical theories and socioeconomic forms of justice. This re-evaluation and re-interpretation of oppressive systems including but not limited to education, mass incarceration, mental health, sexual health, and civil rights engage a fluid spectrum of gender framework.

RSVP is encouraged and can be done here. All are welcome.

This event is generously supported by Pratt Institute’s Center for Community Development, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Design, School of Art, Pratt Faculty Union, department of Human Resources, division of Student Affairs, the RiDE initiative, departments of Mathematics and Science, Humanities and Media Studies, Film/Video, Communications Design, and the Pratt Library.
