2:00-3:00 The Commonwealth: Race, Gender, Class and Sexuality
From Colonialism to the current American empire, issues of race, gender, class and sexuality have been used to divide and conquer. The underlying issues are based on control of property and the distribution of resources. This teach-in will include a short history of the economics of oppression as it relates to the recent uprisings in Ferguson and Baltimore. The session will include an open discussion based on the meaning of the Commons within the context of reparations for African Americans.
